Peshawar - The Wafaqi Mohtasib of Pakistan, Regional Office Peshawar, has provided substantial relief to a Peshawar citizen by taking up his complaint against the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) over an allegedly arbitrary electricity bill.
Adil Khan, a resident of Peshawar, lodged a complaint with the Wafaqi Mohtasib against PESCO, stating that the company had arbitrarily charged him Rs148,114 in his electricity bill for October 2025.
Following the intervention of the Wafaqi Mohtasib of Pakistan, Regional Office Peshawar, PESCO agreed to resolve the complainant's grievance.

In implementation of the findings of the Wafaqi Mohtasib, Muhammad Alam Zeb, Deputy Advisor (Implementation), ensured relief amounting to Rs80,002 for the complainant, which was adjusted against his electricity bill.
The complainant, Adil Khan, expressed his gratitude to Wafaqi Mohtasib of Pakistan Naveed Kamran Baloch and Regional Head, Peshawar, Muhammad Qasim Jan, for providing prompt, transparent and free-of-cost administrative justice without requiring the services of a lawyer.
Speaking on the occasion, Regional Head Qasim Jan said the institution of Wafaqi Mohtasib remained committed to protecting the rights of citizens and ensuring prompt, speedy, transparent and free-of-cost administrative justice through an accessible and citizen-friendly mechanism for redressal of grievances.

He emphasised that citizens facing maladministration, injustice or inordinate delay in Federal Government departments should avail themselves of the services of the Wafaqi Mohtasib, which provides an easy and cost-free forum for resolving their grievances.
