Every tournament offers the chance to discover new talent in the Cantera Rojiblanca. In the Apertura 2026, Ixchel Uscanga has begun to make her mark with Chivas Femenil Sub-19 and found the perfect stage on Matchday 8 to showcase everything she can bring to the team, scoring twice in the Rojiblancas' rout of Necaxa.
At just 17 years old and playing her first tournament at this level, the young player has steadily taken on a bigger role. With that in mind, we take a look back at Ixchel's journey with the Rebaño in AP26.
The Minutes That Marked the Beginning
Ixchel's first opportunities came against San Luis and Tijuana. She came on as a substitute in both matches and totaled 69 minutes, giving her the chance to showcase her abilities and begin earning a bigger role within the team.
After those first appearances, Uscanga earned the coaching staff's trust and started against Santos, Rayadas, León and Necaxa. With more consistent playing time, she found the opportunity to take on a greater role within the team and respond on the pitch.
The Reward Came with a Brace
All that work paid off in a special way on Matchday 8. Against Necaxa, Uscanga found the net twice in the first half, setting the Rojiblancas on their way to a dominant victory in a performance that confirmed the growth she has shown from one matchday to the next.
Her Numbers in Apertura 2026
In her first tournament with Chivas Femenil Sub-19, Ixchel has played in six matches, starting four of them. In total, she has logged 375 minutes and already has two goals to her name.
A New Face Making Her Mark
The Apertura 2026 represents the first chapter of Ixchel's story with Chivas Femenil Sub-19, but her development is already showing what she can bring to the team. She has made the most of her opportunities, responded to the coaching staff's confidence and found consistency to be the path toward earning a more prominent role.
