2 people dead after Roanoke house 'fully engulfed in flames'

Prefer us on Google Ben Orner Two people died early Monday in a southeast Roanoke house fire, Roanoke Fire-EMS said. Crews were dispatched to the home in the 1400 block of Greenbrier Ave. S.E. at 2:44 a.m., with the first firefighters arriving at 2:48. Those firefighters reported that the two-story home was "fully engulfed in flames," the fire department said. The call was upgraded at 2:57 a.m. to a two-alarm fire, adding resources so crews could work around downed power lines and structural collapse. Crews found two adults who died in the fire, Roanoke Fire-EMS said. " We are working alongside the community and families who are affected as well as law enforcement to determine further details and the cause and origin of the fire," the department said.
