FAISALABAD,(Parliament Times):A delegation of media representatives meet Managing Director Suthra Punjab Agency Faisalabad Abid Hussain Bhatti at his office and discussed various matters related to ongoing cleanliness operations in the city, field performance of sanitation staff, timely waste collection arrangements and the establishment of an Anti-Littering Squad.
During the meeting, MD Suthra Punjab Agency Faisalabad Abid Hussain Bhatti said that, in accordance with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's Suthra Punjab vision, providing citizens with a clean, healthy and pollution-free environment is the fundamental responsibility of the Suthra Punjab Agency. He said that all available resources were being utilized to make the city's sanitation system more effective, while cleanliness operations were also being continuously monitored.He said that sanitation workers of the Suthra Punjab Agency remain active in the field round the clock and are performing cleanliness duties in different areas of the city. Vehicles are kept ready for timely lifting and disposal of waste so that garbage does not accumulate on roads, streets, markets and other public places.
Abid Hussain Bhatti said that the performance of field teams was being regularly reviewed to improve cleanliness standards, adding that immediate action was being taken wherever complaints regarding sanitation were received.
The MD further emphasized that the role of citizens is equally important in keeping the city clean. He urged people to dispose of household and commercial waste at designated points and avoid throwing garbage on roads, streets, squares and other public places. He also appealed to citizens to cooperate with sanitation workers and play their role in maintaining a clean environment.
Regarding the establishment of the Anti-Littering Squad, Abid Hussain Bhatti said that the initiative would further improve the city's cleanliness system. The Anti-Littering Squad would visit streets, markets, neighbourhoods, intersections and other public places on a daily basis to create awareness among citizens about avoiding littering and following cleanliness principles.He said the purpose of the Anti-Littering Squad was not only to take measures against littering but also to promote a sense of civic responsibility and create awareness among citizens about cleanliness. Through the awareness campaign, people would be informed that a clean environment is essential for a healthy society and that every citizen has a role to play in keeping Faisalabad clean.
The MD said that public complaints and suggestions were also being given due importance for further improvement of the sanitation system. Relevant officers and field staff had been directed to ensure prompt resolution of sanitation-related complaints and provide better services to citizens.
Abid Hussain Bhatti expressed his resolve that the Suthra Punjab Agency Faisalabad would continue to perform its responsibilities with dedication and take practical measures to further improve the city's cleanliness system, ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment for the citizens.
