Loneta Farnham Behrens

Loneta Ruth Farnham Behrens, age 93, of Nashville, TN passed away on September 3, 2026. Preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Behrens. She is survived by three daughters: Jennifer (Keith) Speer of Nashville, Suzanne (Juan) Diaz of Nashville; and Andrea (Bryan) Simmons of Crossville; She is also survived by Ken's children, Ken (Claudia) Behrens of California and Mary Kay (Mark) Berry of Texas. She and Ken shared 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren to whom she was affectionately known as 'Lolo'. Loneta was born in 1932 in Payette, Idaho to William D. and Jeanette Farnham. She graduated from Payette High School in 1950 and then from The College of Idaho in 1954, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in education. Loneta taught grade school for one year in Mtn. Home, ID and for four years in Salt Lake City, UT. She married John Robert (Bob) Newbrough of Wendell, ID in 1955. They lived most of their 24 years together in Nashville where they raised their three daughters. During that time, she received an MS degree in counseling from Peabody College in Nashville, TN. They divorced in 1979. She was employed by Peabody College in various Administrative positions until she was remarried to Kenneth Behrens of Elkhart, IN, in 1987. She and Ken lived 14 months in Hawaii before Ken retired from Liberty House of Hawaii. After traveling in their RV for a year, they made their home in Boise. She worked for five years for the State Industrial Commission and retired in 1996. They enjoyed traveling to Australia, New Zealand, the Alpine countries of Europe, and across the United States to visit friends and family. Loneta warmly embraced Ken's family as her own and treasured time spent visiting with his children, grandchildren, and then great-grandchildren. She moved back to Nashville in 2022 and into The St. Paul Retirement Home, where she made many new friends, brushed up on her Bridge, and became a beloved member of the community. She was a dedicated participant in the Unitarian church community. No services are planned at this time. In lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to your favorite charity.
