She hasn't been afraid to dish all about their 'very passionate affair'. Ruthie, 59 spent nearly five years with Edward almost four decades back and revealed about their romance. She has also made shocking claims in her bombshell memoir The Showgirl And The Prince. Ruthie tells the outlet, 'I used to keep him up all night. He was romantic and gentle and definitely NOT GAY!,' the British actress further said. Ruthie and Prince Edward on-off romance ended in 1993, and she admitted she was close to a breakdown. She claims in the memoir, 'We'd tried desperately to make it work. But it seemed impossible because of who he was and what I wanted to do in my career.' Despite their split, Ruthie and the Duke remained friendly. She attended Edward's wedding to Sophie six years later, and the actress says she and the prince still speak on the phone several times a year. 'He has called me every single year on my birthday without fail, including this year,' she revealed.
