Blenko Glass unveils new suncatchers honoring Dolly Parton

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WOWK) — The Blenko Glass Company is raising money in honor of Dolly Parton through the unveiling of two new suncatchers. In collaboration with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library of West Virginia, Blenko shared the two suncatcher designs inspired by Dolly Parton in a release Saturday. The handmade ornaments include a 4-inch turquoise piece celebrating books, music, and butterflies, as well as a 4-inch citrine piece featuring some of Dolly's lyrics. W.Va. A woman who made us laugh, made us cry, and reminded generations of dreamers that where you come from doesn't have to limit where you can go. As we thought about how to honor her, we kept coming back to one question: 'What would Dolly do?' She'd do some good,' the release said. According to the release, half of the proceeds from the collaboration will go to the Imagination Library through Blenko's Glass for Good initiative. 'We are celebrating the life and legacy of a true legend. Dolly lives on in every child who dreams, every book that is opened, and every song that is sung,' said Jamie Lima, State Director of the West Virginia Imagination Library.
