Health officials identified 58,104 initially missed children during the campaign, vaccinating 32,708 through same-day catch-up efforts while teams continue work to reach the remaining children across the district. RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Nov, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Captain (Retd) Nadeem Nasir chaired a high-level review meeting on Tuesday to evaluate the first-day performance of the ongoing anti-polio immunization drive and directed health officials to ensure 100 percent coverage of missed children. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Social Services) Fazaia Mudassar, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the District Health Authority and other relevant administrative officers. Briefing the forum on campaign metrics, health officials reported that over 7,56,000 children were successfully administered oral polio drops across the district on the first day. The briefing detailed that field surveillance identified 58,104 children who were initially missed due to temporary absence or other reasons. Mobile teams immediately conducted same-day catch-up activities, successfully vaccinating 32,708 of these children, while targeted field measures are underway to cover the remaining 25,396 missed children. Specialized sweep-up operations were also completed in low-coverage pockets. DC instructed health authorities to enforce strict adherence to field micro-plans and ensure continuous supervisory oversight during the remaining campaign days. He emphasized that no eligible child should be left unvaccinated, warning that administrative accountability will be maintained across all union councils.
