Eid Milad un Nabi to fall on August 26

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has announced that the Rabi ul Awal moon was not sighted. Eid Milad un Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) will be observed on August 26. ISLAMABAD: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee on Thursday announced that the moon for Rabi ul Awal was not sighted, setting Eid Milad un Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) for August 26. The decision was announced by Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad after a meeting in Islamabad held under his chairmanship. The committee said it had examined reports and testimonies received from different parts of the country before reaching its conclusion. According to the announcement, no credible evidence of moon sighting was received. As a result, the first of Rabi-ul-Awwal 1448 AH will begin on Saturday, August 15, while the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal, observed as the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), will fall on Wednesday, August 26. Representatives of the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the Ministry of Science and Technology and other relevant institutions also assisted the committee with technical input during the meeting.
