Pakistani-Americans are contesting elections in several US states ahead of the midterm elections on November 3, 2026, with some seeking re-election to their state legislatures. According to available election lists, Maryam Khan and Saud Anwar are contesting seats in the Connecticut State Senate. In Texas, Salman Bhojani and Suleman Lalani are seeking re-election to the State House of Representatives from Districts 92 and 76, respectively. Farooq Mughal is contesting a state legislative seat in Georgia, while Tariq Khan is running in Pennsylvania. Hanadi Nadeem is also seeking a seat in the Nevada State Assembly. In Florida, Imtiaz Mohammad is standing as a Republican candidate. Several other Muslim American candidates are also contesting elections in various states. Most of the Pakistani-American candidates are running for seats in state legislatures or state senates. These are state-level elections and should not be confused with contests for the US Congress, which comprises the federal House of Representatives and the Senate.
