British star sprints to fourth stage victory at Vuelta a Espana

The world's most free-thinking newspaper Britain's Matthew Brennan secured his fourth stage victory of his debut Grand Tour by sprinting to victory on stage 16 of the Vuelta a España in La Rabida. The 21-year-old cyclist from Darlington was positioned perfectly by his Visma-Lease a Bike team-mate Wout van Aert before surging ahead to beat Bryan Coquard and Vito Braet in a gripping group sprint. Brennan praised his team's strategy and execution after Visma-Lease a Bike reeled in a five-rider breakaway with 30km remaining, bringing their total stage victories at this year's race to six. Reflecting on his dream start to Grand Tour racing, Brennan admitted that achieving four stage wins surpassed the team's initial target of securing just one victory.
