After a nice stop in the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge in San Francisco, I boarded my flight to Denver, where my I got to try a new dish on United Airlines for dinner that greatly exceeded expectations, the subject of this week's Meal Of The Week.
Taste Test: Sticky Bourbon Glazed Chicken On United Airlines
My diet is primary chicken and fish at home, which is one reason I usually order beef or lamb when on a plane, but this evening I decided to try the poultry, which was a bourbon-glazed chicken breast served with two sides I quite enjoy: jalapeño creamed corn and baked beans.

This dish has received mixed reviews from colleagues, but I try to give each dish a try for myself. The meal began with mixed nuts and a beverage.
It was presented on a tray with a green salad, bread roll, and key lime cheesecake for dessert.
Ok, I really liked the dish…the sauce was sweet and a nice juxtaposition to he creamed corn (though if there were any jalapeños in the cream sauce, they were neutered and had no real kick). So yes, I recommend this dish and also find it one of United's more filling dishes in domestic first class.
As good last his dish was, unfortunately I was flying from SFO-DEN and not DEN-SFO so I could not have the bison meatloaf, which is still my favorite domestic meal in the entire system (even better than the Maryland crab cakes out of Washington Dulles).
My Meal of the Week feature examines an airline meal from my travels over the years. This may be a meal from earlier in the week or it may be a meal served over a decade ago.
Also, I'm 'live-blogging' my trip to Greenland, with a slight delay, this week.
