JAF evacuates 10 injured Jordanians from Egypt

AMMAN — Following Royal directives, a Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) medical aircraft on Monday evacuated 10 Jordanian citizens injured in a recent traffic accident in Egypt, bringing them to the Kingdom for specialised medical treatment. The injured had received initial medical treatment in Egypt before being evacuated, with eight cases classified as moderate and three as critical, according to the JAF. Upon arrival in the Kingdom, the injured were transferred to King Hussein Medical Centre, where they are receiving specialised treatment and care according to their medical conditions. The JAF General Command said one of the injured could not be evacuated by air at the time, following a medical assessment that determined air travel was not safe, adding that the patient remained in Egypt and continues to receive medical treatment under close observation. The possibility of transferring the patient to Jordan will be reassessed based on their condition and recommendations from the treating specialist medical team, JAF said. The General Command stressed that the safety of the injured remains the priority and that all decisions concerning their transfer are being made in accordance with medical recommendations. Families of the injured expressed their appreciation to His Majesty King Abdullah, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, praising the JAF's continued efforts to follow up on the conditions of Jordanian citizens and provide them with necessary support, according to the statement.
