'I'm officially done': Eagles' Brandon Graham says he is officially retiring from NFL for 2nd time

Philadelphia Eagles Brandon Graham announced on Tuesday that he is officially retiring. WPVI PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia Eagles' Brandon Graham announced on Tuesday that he is officially retiring from the NFL, again. Graham made the announcement at a Jefferson Health Eagles rally. "I'm officially done. Y'all hearing it from me first," Graham said at the event. "They are in great hands." He said he'll still be around "giving wisdom, helping the guys." The veteran Philadelphia Eagles defensive end said it will be a "great adjustment" for his kids and family. "I'm done. I'm ready to move on. I gotta pull my suits out," he said on Tuesday. "I'm excited for what's to come." Graham, the longest-tenured player in franchise history, announced he was walking away following Philadelphia's 2024 Super Bowl campaign. But then he signed a one-year deal with the Eagles last October to play in his 16th NFL season following the sudden retirement of Za'Darius Smith, recording three sacks and three QB hits in nine games. Graham was open to suiting up again this year but wanted to have a commitment from the team early in the process. That never came to pass. He holds the Eagles record for most regular-season games played (215) and is third in franchise history with 79.5 career sacks. He made his lone Pro Bowl in 2020 and recorded his first double-digit sack season in 2022 with 11. Selected 13th overall by the Eagles in the 2010 draft, Graham's career got off to a slow start due to injuries, stirring conversation about whether he would be a bust. Instead, Graham developed into a steady, productive presence on the edge for the Eagles, highlighted by a 9.5-sack campaign during their championship run in 2017. Graham's strip sack of Tom Brady in the closing moments of Super Bowl LII helped secure a narrow win over the New England Patriots and delivered the first Lombardi Trophy to Philadelphia.
