The Boundary in Reading is set to transition into Stonegate Group's leased and tenanted business, with the company confirming it will soon begin recruiting a new publican to take on the venue. Stonegate said the pub will remain open and trading as usual throughout the process, with no immediate changes planned for customers, staff or the day-to-day running of the business. A Stonegate spokesman said: "The Boundary, Reading remains open and trading as usual. "As part of our ongoing review of our estate, we have made the decision to transition the pub to our leased and tenanted business in the future." The move follows a similar transition at another Reading pub, The Monks' Retreat in Friar Street. The town centre venue moved from a Stonegate-managed operation to a leased arrangement under independent operator Dunning's while remaining part of Stonegate's wider estate. Stonegate has not announced when the transition at The Boundary will take place or provided details about who may take over the pub. The company said the recruitment process for a new publican would begin shortly and is expected to take time. "We will shortly begin recruiting for a new Publican to take on this opportunity. As this process will take time, there will be no immediate changes to the pub, its team or the experience for our guests," the spokesman added. For now, customers can continue to visit The Boundary as normal while the search for a new operator gets underway. "The Boundary remains open and we look forward to continuing to welcome customers as normal," the spokesperson said.
