Qatar Museums Champions Protection of Qatar's Archaeological Sites at S'hail 2026

Doha, September 08 (QNA) – Qatar Museums (QM) has highlighted the importance of protecting Qatar's archaeological heritage through a dedicated awareness campaign at the S'hail 2026 exhibition, taking place from September 8-12 at Katara Cultural Village. Led by QM's Archaeology and Heritage Department, the Qatar Museums pavilion [B34- B35], will invite visitors to discover the rich archaeological heritage found across the country and learn more about the collective responsibility to protect these important sites for future generations. Informational and visual materials, alongside dedicated awareness activities, will highlight the work undertaken to document, study and safeguard archaeological sites, while raising awareness of the actions that can put them at risk. The campaign forms part of QM's Archaeology Department's wider efforts to safeguarding Qatar's cultural heritage, preserving national identity, and protecting historical sites for future generations. QM's Director of Archaeology Faisal Abdulla Al Naimi said: 'Our participation in the S'hail Exhibition offers a valuable opportunity to engage directly with the public and raise awareness that safeguarding our heritage is a responsibility we all share. 'Archaeological sites are not merely witnesses to the past, they are an integral part of our national identity and collective memory, and preserving them ensures they are passed down to future generations.'
