SP national president Akhilesh Yadav addresses a press conference at party office, in Lucknow on Monday Lucknow: Describing BJP 's move of using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to dish out negative campaigns targeting political rivals as a waste of the scientific innovation, Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav on Monday said AI instead be used for the betterment of the society through its application in medical treatment, agriculture and weather forecast. AI can be used to bring about a change for the better in the society, Akhilesh said, adding that it could help farmers get appropriate prices for their produce and protect crop through weather predictions. 'AI should be used for good, not for negative politics. Our political opponents, who are in govt, are splurging public money on hatching conspiracies and creating videos using AI. Let me be clear, for every video that they (BJP) release, a video will be put out from our end as well,' Akhilesh said. Responding to a media query related to re-dawn demolition of 'illegal' mosque in Saharanpur, Akhilesh questioned the urgency behind engaging the bulldozers within 12 hours of the order by the local court. 'This was a well-planned strategy and conspiracy,' he said. 'The communal atmosphere being created will end for good. We will work towards building a nation rooted in 'bandhu raashtra'. We will work to ensure brotherhood and mutual respect for all religions,' Akhilesh said. On the issue of caste census Akhilesh said it was the only mean through which a govt can ensure that its welfare schemes reach every section of the society in proportion of their share in population. The same goes for reservation. The Constitution of India provided for reservation (in education and govt jobs) and it will remain there, always, Akhilesh said. Akhilesh attacked the BJP led NDA at the Centre and the BJP govt in UP for selling public assets. Without taking names Akhilesh said the Centre was selling big assets and the state govt was selling the comparatively smaller ones. This was happening because the govts were heading towards bankruptcy, he said.
