The US president and vice president berated President Zelenskyy in the White House oval office on February 28, 2025. Zelenskyy has now turned the tables on Trump, and Ukraine has clearly had the last laugh. Zelenskyy pitched Ukraine's drone-killing technology to Trump in August 2025. But the Pentagon didn't call back until too late. (Ibid) This story did more than move me – a rarity these days; it also revealed the profound idiocy and incompetence of Trump's leadership. Mr. Unger's message further convinced me that Putin directed Trump to wage war in Iran, further weakening the United States – which is the prime directive of Russia, at the same time providing an excuse to lift gas and oil sanctions against Russia. While Trump spends billions daily to fight in Iran, Zelenskyy spends only $117,000 ($1,000 each drone) to destroy 40 Russian aircraft which cost Russia about $7 billion each. Ukraine's resilience - maintaining its sovereignty, rapidly rebuilding Russian-damaged infrastructure, and mounting effective counterstrikes - makes Trump's war in Iran look like child's play as he rapidly depletes U.S. weapons and defense funds costing trillions. More broadly, Putin's sway over Trump and the rapid drain on U.S. weapons, ships, personnel, and other resources could (1) soon revive the US military draft and (2) drastically raise costs for American consumers. Brown Jr.: Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, fired in February 2025. Admiral Lisa Franchetti:Chief of Naval Operations, relieved of duty in February 2025. General Randy George: Army Chief of Staff, forced to retire in April 2026. General David Allvin: Air Force Chief of Staff, removed from his position. General Timothy Haugh: Director of the NSA and head of U.S. Cyber Command, fired in April 2025. General Christopher Donahue:Commander of U.S. Army Europe and Africa, pushed into early retirement. It does not require a lifetime of military training or service to realize this long list of military leaders, forced out by Trump and Hegseth, are essential for the protection of the United States. (Wikipedia) As Trump – who was a five-time draft evader- reinstates the draft, sending American sons and daughters into a senseless, undeclared and expensive war, perhaps even his supporters will look beyond party loyalty and begin to wake up to reality.
