Man wounded in shooting near Franz Sigel Park

A 26-year-old man was injured during a shooting near Franz Sigel Park on Sunday night, police say. Gunfire erupted at 730 Grand Concourse just after 10 p.m. Citizen app footage shows a large crowd gathered outside the park as officers and paramedics arrived on scene. Just down the Grand Concourse, the video shows multiple shell casing markers in the middle of the road, surrounded by crime scene tape. The NYPD says the man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. Paramedics took him to Lincoln Hospital. He is expected to recover, according to police. Information on what sparked the shooting - and who may have pulled the trigger - was not immediately available.
