Dera Ismail Khan, Sep 20 (APP):Relief and rehabilitation activities are continuing in Paharpur tehsil following the breach in the Chashma Right Bank Canal (CRBC), with teams of the Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) engaged in dewatering, drainage and sanitation operations in flood-affected areas.
On the directions of Regional Municipal Officer (RMO) Ehsan Masood and under the supervision of Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) Paharpur Chaudhry Attaullah, TMA teams and machinery have remained active in the affected localities to facilitate residents and address problems caused by the accumulation of floodwater.
The municipal teams are carrying out dewatering operations at affected houses and other locations, while drainage and sanitation measures are also being undertaken to restore normal conditions in the affected areas. The field teams are visiting the affected localities and responding to the needs of residents on a priority basis.
As part of the relief efforts, TMO Chaudhry Attaullah also distributed ration bags, mattresses and other essential items among flood-affected residents to help meet their immediate needs.
RMO Ehsan Masood directed the TMA authorities to maintain relief activities in the affected areas and ensure the effective use of available manpower and machinery for the timely removal of stagnant water and improvement of drainage conditions. He said that municipal resources should remain available in the field until the immediate difficulties faced by the affected population were addressed.
TMO Chaudhry Attaullah said that TMA Paharpur teams were continuously working in the field to provide relief to affected residents and remove floodwater from houses and other affected locations. He said that dewatering and drainage operations were being carried out according to the situation on the ground, while sanitation activities were also being undertaken to mitigate the difficulties faced by citizens after the canal breach.
He added that the TMA staff and machinery would continue relief operations in the affected areas and take necessary measures to facilitate the local population during the prevailing situation.
The ongoing operation is aimed at reducing the difficulties of flood-affected residents, improving drainage conditions and helping restore civic facilities in the affected localities.
The TMA teams are continuing their field presence to respond to emerging requirements and provide necessary municipal support to the affected population.
