Girl Scouts to debut 2 new cookies, but one isn't for you

Girl Scout cookies aren't just for people anymore. Girl Scouts of the USA announced two first-of-their-kind additions to its cookie lineup on Monday, revealing its first cookie created just for dogs and the first allergy-friendly cookie. The creations were inspired by the organization's desire to meet the diverse needs of communities. Patch Pals were developed with BARK for four-legged family members. Inspired by Girl Scouts' deep love for their dogs, the soft-baked, blueberry muffin-flavored dog cookies feature one of four 'patch' designs, representing iconic Girl Scout experiences. Girl Scout Sparkables were developed with Partake in a facility designed to avoid the nine major food allergens. The crunchy oatmeal cookie features chocolate chips and is dotted with colorful sprinkles. The online exclusive offerings will join beloved classics like Thin Mints, Samoas/Caramel deLites and Peanut Butter Patties/Tagalongs. Girl Scout Cookie season is recognized nationally from January through April, though local dates vary by region. Patch Pals and Girl Scout Sparkables will be available exclusively online for direct shipping beginning Jan.12, 2027, with the national launch of the 2027 cookie season. Girl Scout cookies have been part of American culture since 1917. During an average selling season, more than one million girls sell more than 200 million packages of cookies and raise over $800 million. The sales support the organization, which aims to help girls push their limits, embrace challenges, think creatively and believe in their own potential while helping them acquire leadership and entrepreneurial tools needed in the future. By selling cookies they can earn skill-building badges such as the My First Cookie Business, My Cookie Customer and My Cookie Team badges.
