LAHORE - P: A sessions court has convicted a man and two women to 20-year imprisonment each in a case involving the recovery of 35 kilograms of charas. Additional District and Sessions Judge Akhtar Hussain imposed a collective fine of Rs 800,000 on the convicts, identified as Sundas, Farzana and Imran Ali, says a written order released on Friday. According to the prosecution, the Sherakot police had registered a narcotics case against the three accused in 2024 after allegedly recovering a large quantity of charas from their possession. During the trial, the prosecution had produced substantial evidence establishing the charges against the accused. The prosecutor maintained that the evidence on record proved the prosecution's case beyond reasonable doubt and sought conviction of the accused in accordance with law. After hearing the arguments and examining the evidence, the court convicted all three accused and sentenced each of them to 20 years in prison, besides imposing the fines.
