ISLAMABAD - The benchmark KSE 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed bearish trend on Thursday, shedding 1,138.50 points, a negative change of 0.68 percent, to close at 167,441.91 points against 168,580.41 points recorded in the previous trading session. The ready market witnessed a trading volume of 365.869 million shares compared to 586.861 million shares traded in the previous session, while the traded value decreased to Rs17.722 billion from Rs22.365 billion. Market capitalisation decreased to Rs18.597 trillion from Rs18.747 trillion recorded a day earlier. Out of 496 companies that traded in the ready market, 130 posted gains, 324 suffered losses, while 42 remained unchanged. K-Electric Ltd. led the volume chart with 29.662 million shares, followed by Cnergyico PK with 21.323 million shares and Waves Home App with 16.919 million shares. Among the top gainers, Baba Farid Sugar Mills Limited surged by Rs35.26 to close at Rs465.22, while Fateh Industries Limited advanced by Rs26.22 to settle at Rs288.38. Rs 2.75m Italy work visa fraud: FIA puts suspect behind bars On the losing side, Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited declined by Rs280.00 to close at Rs25,400.00, while Sazgar Engineering Works Limited fell by Rs35.33 to Rs1,591.47. In the futures (DFC) market, turnover stood at 97.929 million shares with a traded value of Rs6.479 billion compared with 174.910 million shares worth Rs8.472 billion in the previous session. Of the 293 companies traded in the DFC market, 36 advanced, 253 declined and 4 remained unchanged.
