Former Karaga MP Fires Warning Shot at NPP: 'Karaga Belongs to the NDC'

Former Karaga Member of Parliament (MP) Alhassan Sualihu Dandaawa has issued a pointed warning to the New Patriotic Party (NPP), declaring that the Karaga seat belongs to the NDC and vowing to reclaim it in the 2028 general election. 'We will let [Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam] know that the Karaga seat belongs to the NDC and not the NPP,' Dandaawa said, directly challenging the sitting MP's hold on the constituency. The former MP backed his confidence with a bold and blunt assessment of the party's standing in the area. 'With the kind of work President John Mahama has done in Karaga, even if we present a dog as our candidate, it will win the 2028 general election,' he said. He pointed to what he described as sustained empowerment of NDC structures under President Mahama as the basis for his confidence. 'John Mahama has empowered us in various sectors, and we are ready to take back the seat from the NPP,' he said. Dandaawa also appealed directly to voters, promising a surge of development if the seat changes hands. 'Expect more projects from the NDC for the development of Karaga, and before the end of John Mahama's tenure, Karaga will be developed massively,' he stated. The remarks came as Dandaawa donated a Toyota Voxy to the NDC's Karaga constituency chairman, in recognition of the chairman's 'dedication, sacrifice and commitment' to the party's efforts in the area.
