Speedboat Carrying Journalists to Anak Krakatau Declared Missing with 6 Journalists Unaccounted For

A group of six journalists aboard a speedboat to cover Mount Anak Krakatau has been missing since Monday afternoon. The last communication occurred around 2:42 PM, and despite an ongoing search operation involving police and Basarnas, the vessel remains unaccounted for in the Sunda Strait. Leaders from Antara, Merdeka, and PFI have called for intensified efforts to locate the missing crew. The last communication was recorded at approximately 2:42 PM when a member of the entourage sent their final location. Since 3:04 PM, all contact with the group has been lost. The suspected last position is in the Sunda Strait, about 9.98 nautical miles from RIB 02 BTN, with an estimated travel time of 40 minutes. Currently, 6 journalists are unaccounted for, including members from Antara, Merdeka, iNews, and Anadolu. A search operation involving 23 personnel from the police and Basarnas is underway, utilizing KN Tetuka in rough waters.
