My Scene With Siddhu Is the Biggest Highlight of Varahi: Sumanth

Sumanth is confident that his upcoming devotional action thriller Mahendragiri Varahi will offer audiences an engaging theatrical experience. The film, which has received a U/A censor certificate, is slated for theatrical release on September 11 and has already generated interest through its promotional material. Sumanth said producers Madhu and Laxman have mounted the film on a large scale, while the promotions are also being carried out aggressively. 'Mahendragiri Varahi is releasing in Hindi and Tamil as well, and we are seeing interest from audiences in the North too. The response to the teaser and trailer has made us very happy. We are extremely confident about the film,' he said. The actor revealed that he was impressed with the story from the moment director Santossh Jagarlapudi narrated it. He particularly highlighted the interval, pre-climax and climax portions, promising strong highs for audiences. 'Santossh has a very good understanding of the Vedas and Puranas, so this is a subject that suits him perfectly. He has made the film exactly the way he envisioned it,' Sumanth said. Talking about his character, Sumanth said he plays a man who exposes superstitions through YouTube. 'It is a devotional action thriller, but there is also strong family drama and several commercial elements,' he said. Sumanth also praised Siddhu Jonnalagadda's special appearance. 'Siddhu plays a serious character. There is a scene between us that will be one of the biggest highlights of the movie. Everyone who has seen it says it has come out exceptionally well. It is going to be a major advantage for the film. I thank Siddhu for agreeing to be part of this role,' he said. Addressing comparisons with the recent popularity of mythology-based films, Sumanth clarified that Mahendragiri Varahi was not conceived as part of any trend. He also dismissed comparisons with Murari based on the trailer's premise of people in a particular lineage dying after crossing the age of 33. Sumanth also expressed his willingness to explore negative and supporting roles in the future.
