YSR Congress Demands Resignation of Andhra Education Minister Over DSC Scam Allegations

Amaravati, September 7 (Daily Kiran) : The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has once again called for the resignation of Andhra Pradesh's Education Minister, Nara Lokesh, amid ongoing allegations surrounding the DSC exam scandal. The party asserts that new evidence emerges daily, intensifying scrutiny on Lokesh's role in the matter. Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, a state coordinator for YSRCP, addressed the media, stating that as fresh evidence continues to surface, the coalition government's attempts to suppress the issue are faltering. He suggested that Lokesh should resign rather than evade accountability by deflecting questions to officials. Reddy claimed that the DSC exam was conducted in a manner that allowed teaching positions to be sold for money. He emphasized that with each new revelation, the government's defense appears increasingly untenable. According to him, all fingers point to Lokesh as being responsible for the irregularities, asserting that he cannot escape his responsibilities. He further indicated that if any wrongdoing has occurred, accountability must be taken. Reddy raised concerns about the fairness of the investigation, questioning how it could be impartial without oversight from a central agency. Moreover, he alleged that the coalition government is attempting to silence media outlets exposing the DSC scam by improperly blocking social media accounts. Reddy pointed to clear irregularities in appointments made under the sports quota, suggesting that instead of confronting pressing questions raised by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the government is trying to evade scrutiny. He noted a troubling trend where gold medalists are denied jobs while individuals with mere participation certificates are hired. The issuance and subsequent cancellation of government orders further affirm suspicions of corruption within the DSC process. Reddy also mentioned allegations of paper leaks and claimed that a top performer had prior access to a question bank. When this information came to light, that individual's name was reportedly removed from the merit list. He challenged Lokesh, who has been vocal on this issue, to answer questions in the council, questioning why he avoids facing YSRCP directly. Reddy accused Chandrababu Naidu of attempting to shield his son from the allegations, suggesting that only officials are making statements instead of the involved minister.
