The definitional difference between arrogance and expertise, is the ability to demonstrate in practice whatever you are promoting.
How you feed your body is a higher priority than structured exercise.
To be clear, BOTH are important, as is proper rest. I'm not advocating to reduce priority on any of these. This is simply to point out what should be at the start point of that list.
It follows that whatever material you choose to feed your MIND belongs at the top of the mental health list. 🧠 That's reading, listening, watching, and speaking. When you speak, your ears hear your own voice, thus engaging two forms of learning at once.
Non-physical 'exercise' is centered around applying whatever you have learned through your mental diet.
What are you feeding your body?
What are you feeding your mind?
How are you utilizing the fuel from each of those dietary routines?
No one should be working out to work off what they ate, when they decided willfully to step over a guard rail and stay there. First, it's not a beneficial habit. Second, it's inefficient and ultimately ineffective for any goals.
The sustainable process is to eat in a manner that fuels your lifestyle. If your decision is to sit on the couch, I highly recommend a massive reduction in caloric intake, among other things. When you get up and go to the gym, or take a hike, or go swimming, or ride a bicycle, etc.… you're going to need more calories, because muscle is HUNGRY. Hungry muscle lets you know what you missed by a drop in both energy and output of power. Simple.
The same thing is going to happen to your mind.
When you consume sugar, simple carbs, short-term spiking trash, you end up craving more of it. You keep going back to that as a solution and it is not a solution. That is not nutrition. It never was.
When you engage habitually in discussions that only promote negative energies, your mind is actively starving. All living creatures are intentionally designed for growth, repair, and advancement. Going against that base nature is intentional self-destruct. I will die on that hill. (No pun intended.) You will continue to seek emotional gratification in the same damaging environments, if that is a choice in which you invest yourself.
It's possible that you are not even recognizing what qualifies as a negative energy.
The obvious: Gossip, aggressive arguments, personal insults, excessive profanity, suicidal ideation, substance abuse, classism, ethnic/cultural hatred, religious elitism, unproductive topical rants… we all recognize those.
Not so obvious: Wasted potential, derailed motivation, repetition of trauma without progress (for YEARS), wallowing in any form of misery, unproductive use of the time, maintained insecurities, zero intention set on goals, no follow-thru, lack of self-respect, inability to listen to others, excessively crude humor, not exercising self-control, blaming others and circumstances rather than being accountable for choices…
If you are spending time with people who behave this way, it will rub off on you. I hope that's not what you want! Invest better.
People do often seek sympathy in the exact same pattern as a drug-seeking medical patient, only wanting temporarily relief of symptoms by masking them. I EXPECT anyone in my circles to actively engage in seeking solutions, and then employ those tools for real results.
If you cannot do that very basic thing, you will find yourself on the other side of a door. Because I am not allowing anyone to drag me down with them. I have worked relentlessly to become the individual that I am today. Much has been invested in that, and my standard of character is valuable.
X-spaces (hosted audio discussion) are a powerful tool – adaptable, even. This can be useful for communication, networking, and education, OR… it can be weaponized, become wasted time, and ultimately used to fill your mind with utter garbage.
I recommend the former set, not the latter.
There are some great accounts on the X platform who are positive resources. There are a number of us who are offering deep insights, legit support… and the opportunity to learn some level-up strategies for overall health and well-being. Much of it is at no charge.
This is a call to examine yourself. Look hard at what you do prioritize, and don't filter it. Consider where you are guiding yourself, what you are consuming, and what it does FOR you… or TO you.
Do you feel drained, or energized?
Does it leave you aggravated, or uplifted?
Personally, I made the decision that by and large, I am no longer tolerating drunks, drug addicts, or any other type of abusive behavior.
This does not simply cover the way that a user treats others on the platform. If you are abusing yourself, I will not participate. I'm not referring to the occasional party or fun night out. This is about patterns of destructive behavior that have led to me completely blocking a number of people this year on X. That response will continue.
Those individuals do not deserve any access to me. You should be employing the same standards for yourself, if you want me to take you seriously.
Some have found themselves soft-blocked.
Some were blocked from sending me DMs.
Some ended up permanently blocked.
One soft-block is a gentle message. It might be that we simply do not have enough in common, and I am not gaining value from the relationship. I feel that unfollowing and retaining the other person as a follower is impolite, even selfish. If there was no conflict, you are free to re-follow. I will not follow back.
Twice is the stronger message – I do not want a connection with you on any platform. There is something about your conduct that is not receiving my stamp of approval. Therefore, I am politely disconnecting, until I see evidence of improvement. That's your choice. Fix it or don't.
If you refollow after that, it's likely going to be permanent. Fair warning. This is far more extended tolerance than most people offer. Some will block at the drop of a hat. My tack is to give multiple chances to prove yourself better, because I believe in human potential… and I genuinely want to see your life gain in quality.
If I can see clearly that you've given up, and your intention is set on wallowing, I'm done waiting. You're on your own. There are others who deserve more focus, because they are making an effort. I do not drag anchors.
•Learn from successful individuals
•Prioritize your diets, physical & mental
•Set your intentions on health & gains
•Implement new tools for clear goals
We are not even discussing paying it forward yet, because you're not ready if your foot is only on the first rung of the ladder
.
Maybe no one else ever told you they expected such things. Well… now it happened. Make it matter.
Start climbing.
