VCU to test emergency alert system

The testing includes: Outdoor sirens Alertus boxes inside residence halls, classrooms and high-volume areas. VCU Alert text messages 'The biannual alert system test will include a one-minute siren activation, along with Alertus boxes, text messages, mass email, digital signs, desktop alerts, the LiveSafe app, the VCU Mobile app and VCU Alert website updates,' VCU said. VCU says text and email subscribers will received a message about the testing 10 minutes before noon. They will then received a message at noon when the testing begins.
