Nations Join Multinational Gaza Peace Force Another nation has formally joined the international effort to implement President Donald Trump's Gaza peace plan. Kosovo signed an agreement Monday to participate in the International Stabilization Force for Gaza, joining Indonesia, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Albania and Uganda. The UN-mandated multinational force is envisioned as part of the U.S.-Israeli framework for postwar Gaza, with responsibilities including maintaining stability, supporting demilitarization and training Palestinian security forces. The development is particularly interesting in light of Daniel 9:27, which foretells the confirmation of a covenant 'with many' for one prophetic week, understood as seven years. That covenant will begin the final seven years leading to the return of Jesus Christ. There is presently no biblical basis for declaring Trump's Gaza agreement to be the prophesied seven-year covenant. Important prophetic requirements have not yet been established. What makes this development noteworthy is the increasingly multinational architecture surrounding Middle East peace. We are no longer merely watching negotiations between Israel and one neighboring nation. Multiple countries are becoming directly involved in mechanisms intended to preserve and implement regional agreements. Daniel specifically says the eventual covenant will involve 'many.' Whether today's Gaza framework ultimately contributes anything to that future agreement remains unknown. But every time Middle East diplomacy broadens from bilateral negotiations toward multinational arrangements involving Israel, prophecy students should pay attention. Let's continue to keep an eye on all efforts of peace involving Israel, Gaza, the Palestinians, many nations, agreements that may allow the future building of a third Jewish Temple on the Temple Mount, or a treaty signed specifically for seven years.
