(Alliance News) - Generalfinance Spa said Tuesday it will exercise the option for the full early redemption of its Tier 2 subordinated bond issue of €5.0m, after receiving clearance from the Bank of Italy.
The redemption will take place on October 6 at 100% of par value, equal to €100,000 for each bond.
Along with principal, the company will pay accrued interest at an annual rate of 10% for the period between October 1 and October 6.
From that date, the bond will cease to accrue interest and will be fully redeemed and canceled.
The transaction aims to optimize the company's financial structure and regulatory capital, reducing its funding costs. The redemption follows the issuance, carried out in 2025, of a Tier 2 subordinated bond of €30m, also intended to refinance maturing subordinated liabilities.
Generalfinance shares closed Tuesday up 1.0% at €21.20 per share.
