Nicole Kidman makes surprising childhood stutter admission

Nicole Kidman has disclosed a difficult upbringing that subtly influenced her speech patterns and perhaps improved her acting. In an Attitude Magazine interview, the 59-year-old Practical Magic 2 performer talked about having a stutter between the ages of four and six. However, Sandra Bullock, the actress' co-star, was shocked to hear about the statement. Bullock questioned, shockingly asking, 'I never knew you had a stutter? How old were you?' 'Um four, five, six. Through those ages,' Nicole made it clear, adding, 'I would know exactly what I wanted to say and I'd be almost excited to say, but it wouldn't, it would just take time to come out.' The Oscar winner claimed that although she has learnt how to deal with the problem, she still occasionally suffers from it. 'Sometimes I'll have like a second or two of it, but I've learned a technique, and I've learned how to manage it,' she continued, then added, 'Yeah, and it is probably why I speak softly.' It is fascinating to note that Kidman's frustration turned into an unanticipated acting lesson. 'When I was little, everyone would always say stop, pause, think about what you want to say, and then say it,' she clarified. 'So because I would try to speak and then it wouldn't come out, and so the stop and pause. So that's actually quite good for life too.' Kidman and Bullock are presently busy in the promotion of Practical Magic 2, and her press trip has already produced some unforgettable moments. She thrilled fans at an unexpected Sydney screening, saying, 'I couldn't let you have margaritas without me!' Later, she said to the crowd, 'It's really lovely 28 years later, as women, to still be here. So, thank you for decades and decades of support. I love you.' Additionally, Kidman might have unintentionally coined a new slogan during her recent red-carpet appearance: 'This is Versace. Have fun. Let's party!'
