Caleb Williams' ‘burning' confession on Rams INT that sealed Bears' playoff fate

Bears QB Caleb Williams admitted in a recent interview that he still thinks about his game-sealing intercept against the Rams. Bears QB Caleb Williams admitted that he still thinks about his game-sealing interception during a recent interview. 'It burns,' Williams said, per The Athletic's Dan Wiederer. 'It burns. It's frustrating. Still. It still bothers me today. Every single time that play pops up. Or if the Cole Kmet play pops up, it feels like it was for nothing in a sense.' Williams threw a deep pass intended for DJ Moore on second-and-eight from LA's 48-yard line. But a slight disconnect between quarterback and wide receiver resulted in a Kam Curl interception. Instead of Chicago driving for a potential game-winning field goal, they surrendered the ball and eventually the game. Now Williams looks back at that play as a reminder of why communication with his teammates is incredibly important. 'Yeah, just throughout the year, with new plays, old plays, go over every single detail,' Williams added. 'If something pops in your mind, don't hold back. Just so that when those moments show up, you're on the same page with your guys.' 'You change your lens,' Williams concluded, 'and you figure out it was meant to be. And that it's going to do me good and it's going to do us good in the years to come when we get to those moments again.' Bears fans should hope that Williams grows from that moment and knows exactly what to do the next time he's in a similar situation.
