InNBG BlueprintI showed you how we can transform our Anchor City Downtowns with both our NBG Hubs and each city's Downtown Greenway. The fastest way to make all this happen, to connect the coasts with a National Bicycle Greenway, however, is to establish 19 other Downtown Greenways in all of our Anchor Citiesfirst. And leave the NBG Hubs in ÅLL of our Anchor Cities for phase two Toward that end, we only need to create the Indianapolis Hub now. This is so because it will house the 19 directors and managers we will need . To determine a route through our Anchor Cities, what we call a Virtual Tour, we will have to rely on personnel in the field. In the first season then, from May until the end of August, our Anchor City Directors in each of their cities will determine all of the places cyclists will want to eat, sleep, shop and play. In September, our NBC Scouts, four of them, will interconnect these points of interest (POI) with the safest roads and paths to reach them. They will have two months to do this. Come November then, when complete they will pass their work along to the Indy based NBG cartographer. The map work should be complete by March of the following year. With a route in place, back out in the field, our Virtual Tour Director will continue his or her work with all of the vested Interests along the way of¸our route, as well as getting it marked with the words - Future site of ____(city)Downtown Greenway. Soon this will create a buzz heard by cyclists far and wide. Instead of seeing our population centers as obstacles to be avoided, by showing that our virtual tours will soon give way to Downtown Greenways, long distance cyclists will want to roll through them. To support this pro-cycling development, they will want to spend some of their money on food, and lodging in them. Nor will it be long before NBG Members will be able to get a healthy discount on a night's stay. By making our downtown's safe for the long distance, bicycle traveler we will also be making them attractive to local and regional cyclists . This w/have the effect of causing a noticeable uptick in the monies generated from their eating and sleeping needs. When is all this is consummated with a Downtown Greenway, it will quickly become the heartbeat of the city. It will be like the Village Commons where people come to meet and visit on a regular basis. It is here that we will rely on our online POI maps as a way to generate revenue from display ad sales. From Indianapolis, our merchant discount and lodging discount programs and our our Biking Report Cards will all be potent money makers. Back out in the field, they will also join with fund raising efforts such as Checkout Charity and the NBG Day Events that we will coordinate with various merchants While all this going on, the abandoned US highways and worthy back roads between our anchor cities will be marked. Nor will it be long before this Nation and the wolrld will be able to celebrate on the National Bicycle Greenway !! btw: now I have to change the cover and change the cash flow projection
