Anyam Esther, a native of Pinyin was on night guard duty at a primary school in the Azire New Church neighborhood of Bamenda II Subdivision when she was discovered lifeless inside one of the classrooms. Sources told CNA her colleague repeatedly called Esther's phone, but the calls went unanswered. Concerned by her unusual silence, he alerted the management of the private security company that employed her. A team initially went to Esther's residence in Nitop, where she was said to be living alone. However, they reportedly found the house locked. The company's supervisor later contacted the headmistress of the school and obtained the keys to the school premises.
