Quintana Roo Opens Customs Facility at Chetumal Airport

The governor of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama Espinosa, has announced the start of operations at the customs section of Chetumal International Airport, following its publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation, which now allows for the entry and exit of imported and exported goods by air. According to government information, the measure was endorsed by the Ministry of Economy and is part of a strategy for connectivity and economic development that includes the Maya Freight Train, the Strategic Bonded Zone, and the Chetumal Economic Development Hub. Lezama Espinosa emphasized that this initiative will make it possible to develop an air logistics, customs, and tax platform in the state capital. This agreement aims to increase commercial activity and improve air connectivity with Central America and the Caribbean, thereby creating new sources of employment and opportunities for families in the state.
