As the tournament expands its promotional reach.
In early October, the multi-purpose gymnasium at the Provincial Sports and Arts Training and Competition Center not only hosted competitions involving 70 teams and over 700 athletes, but also became a meeting point for people from many different regions. The scenic beauty of Cao Bang is a source of inspiration for photography enthusiasts.
Participating in the competition, the athletes bring with them the goals of competing, exchanging ideas, and learning, in addition to experiencing the land, people, and cultural life. From October 1st to 4th, the participating teams have the opportunity to learn more about the locality, especially since Cao Bang is organizing many cultural activities to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the Liberation of Cao Bang and the 527th anniversary of the province's establishment.
Visiting Cao Bang for the first time, Chu Thi Thanh Huyen, an athlete from Duc Xuan ward, Thai Nguyen province, was impressed by the scenery and atmosphere. At Kim Dong pedestrian street, she had the opportunity to watch performances of Then singing and Tinh playing, and immerse herself in the local cultural life. Huyen shared: "Before, I only knew Cao Bang through pictures online. This time, being able to visit in person, I found everything more familiar and beautiful than I imagined. If I have the chance, I would like to return to explore more."
The moment Ms. Huyen and her friends took photos on the pedestrian street also became part of the trip. For those visiting Cao Bang for the first time, experiences like these help them see the local image not only through promotional information, but also through what they encounter, hear, and experience firsthand. Ms. Chu Thi Thanh Huyen (standing in the middle), from the Thai Nguyen delegation, captured a moment of the members at Kim Dong Pedestrian Street.
Spreading from experiences
During the competition, Ms. Do Thi Bach Duong, Team Leader of Do Quyen Company, Hanoi , took advantage of the time outside of the competition schedule to explore Cao Bang. Together with her teammates, she visited rice fields in their ripening season, enjoyed local specialties, and captured beautiful moments during her exploration of the mountainous region. With its majestic natural scenery, peaceful villages, and unique culinary culture, Cao Bang left a lasting impression on her, not only as a sports destination but also as a region with great appeal to tourists. She shared these images on Facebook, TikTok, and Zalo. Ms. Duong shared: "Cao Bang is very beautiful this season, especially the mountains and ripening rice fields. We took the opportunity to visit, take photos, enjoy local food, and share them with friends. Everyone who saw the photos was delighted, praising Cao Bang's beauty and romance, and asking about the places we visited."
What started as a trip for competition purposes has since been shared with friends and family of the participants. Through this, the scenery, culture, cuisine, and experiences of the local area are presented from the perspective of those who have directly visited and experienced it.
While the scenery creates the initial impression, the quality of service contributes to perfecting the visitor experience. During the tournament, Minh Hoang Hotel in Thuc Phan Ward was trusted by the organizing committee to provide accommodation for several delegations of athletes . With 30 rooms, the hotel ensured comfortable resting conditions for the participating teams. Mr. Nghiem Khac The, manager of Minh Hoang Hotel, said: "We ensure clean and quiet rooms, paying attention to small details such as room cleaning times and the safekeeping of guests' belongings, so that everyone has a comfortable space to rest after each day of competition. We want guests not only to stay but also to have the opportunity to experience the land and people of Cao Bang. After last year's tournament, some athletes even left thank-you letters upon departure. These positive feedbacks are an encouragement for the establishment to continue maintaining the quality of service, especially as more and more delegations come to Cao Bang through sporting events."
From accommodations recommended by the organizers to the specific experiences of the guests, the quality of service also becomes part of the local experience. The impressions created throughout the journey can continue to be carried and shared by the delegations after they return.
From a single tournament to broader destinations
Along with organizing the competition, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism integrated tourism promotion into the process of welcoming participating delegations. Information was provided via QR codes, promotional publications, and direct support channels, making it convenient for delegations to learn more about Cao Binh during their stay. Publications promoting tourism in Cao Bang are on display at Kim Dong Pedestrian Street.
Beyond simply providing information, the initial promotional activities created a demand for hands-on experiences. Some delegations proactively discussed their plans for sightseeing after the tournament, opening up opportunities for sports activities to connect with local tourism. Mr. Kim Tien Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee , said: Through the dissemination of information and introduction of destinations, the delegations exchanged and registered their desire to visit Cao Bang after the tournament. The Department coordinated and facilitated the provision of tour guides for the delegations, helping them choose destinations suitable to their length of stay, such as Ban Gioc Waterfall, Nguom Ngao Cave, and the Pac Bo National Special Historical Site... Through this, athletes not only participate in competitions but also have the opportunity to directly experience the scenery, culture, and people of Cao Bang. In the future, the industry will continue to link sporting events with tourism promotion and connection, so that each tournament becomes an opportunity to bring the image of Cao Bang closer to tourists.
From the playing field to the exploration journey, every activity connected during the tournament adds another "voice" to help Cao Bang become known, experienced, and remembered after each trip. After each tournament, the delegations return to their localities, carrying with them memories of the season and experiences in Cao Bang. From the sporting event Continuing to expand, this will help bring the image of Cao Bang's natural beauty closer to tourists and friends nationwide.
