Naomi Osaka will play her fourth-round match at the 2026 US Open against No. 2 seed Elena Rybakina.
Osaka fought through tough competition to reach the second week at Flushing Meadows. She opened her campaign by defeating Anastasia Zakharova in two tiebreak sets, winning 7-6(8), 7-6(7).
She then defeated Kateřina Siniaková 6-2, 5-7, 6-1 in the second round. In the third round, Osaka faced Elise Mertens and came away with a 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 victory.
Aside from her performance on the court, Osaka has also drawn attention for her fashion statements during her walks to the court. At this year's tournament, she paid homage to NBA legend Allen Iverson with a custom outfit.
Who Is the Father of Naomi Osaka's Daughter?
Osaka's daughter, Shai, was born in July 2023. The tennis star revealed that Shai means 'God's gift' and said she chose the name because she wanted her daughter to always feel like a true blessing.
Shai's father is American rapper and Grammy-nominated artist Cordae. Although Osaka and Cordae split amicably in 2025 after six years of dating, they continue to co-parent Shai.
When announcing their split, the former world No. 1 expressed her gratitude for their time together and praised Cordae for being an amazing father to Shai.
'He's a great person and an awesome dad. Honestly, I'm really glad our paths crossed because my daughter is my biggest blessing and I was able to grow a lot from our experiences together,' she wrote.
Osaka has also spoken about the important role her daughter plays in her life. She has made it clear that being a mother comes before being a tennis player.
'My most important role is not that of a player, but that of a mother to my daughter.'
