Crime Stoppers seeking tips on Urbana Walgreens robbery

URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — The Urbana Police Department is looking for tips through Crime Stoppers that can identify the man who robbed a Walgreens last month. Officials said the robbery happened on Aug. 15 at the Walgreens at University and Cunningham Avenues. They said a man walked into the store at 10:15 p.m. and approached the employee working at the counter. 'The suspect placed a note on the counter demanding money before he reached into the rear of his waistband and threatened to shoot the employee,' Crime Stoppers officials said. 'The suspect then provided the employee with a plastic bag and the employee placed an undisclosed amount of US currency into the bag. The suspect fled the store on foot, traveling north.' The suspect was described as a Black male, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, with an average build and dreadlocks. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a light blue baseball cap, blue surgical mask, a white t-shirt with a blue cross-design print, black Nike athletic shorts, black socks and blue Crocs-style shoes.
