San Antonio teen shot after refusing to hand over belongings, police say

A 17-year-old boy was shot in the leg early Tuesday morning after two men demanded his belongings while he walked home on San Antonio's Southwest Side, according to police. San Antonio Police Department officers went to the 3300 block of Nimitz Drive around 12:27 a.m. Tuesday in response to reports of a shooting in progress. The unidentified teenager was walking home near the 900 block of Bynum when the two men drove alongside him in a blue pickup truck and demanded his property. The two suspects drove off in a blue pickup. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Details of his condition and the extent of his injuries were not available. Police are investigating the shooting as an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The suspects were described only as Hispanic males.
