Labuschagne played alongside the duo while captaining the Hyderabad Kingsmen during the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL), giving him a close-up view of their abilities. Ayub has featured predominantly in white-ball cricket in recent times but marked his Test return in Pakistan's ongoing three-match series against England. Sadaqat, who made his international debut earlier this year, has since played six ODIs, scoring 134 runs at an average of 22.33, including a top score of 75. The batting all-rounder has also claimed three wickets at an average of 13. 'Saim [Ayub] and Maaz [Sadaqat] are great players,' Labuschagne was quoted as saying by Geo Super . Ayub returned for the 3rd Test against England in Birmingham, but was unable to have any impact with the bat as he was dismissed for a duck in both innings.
