Niners DC Raheem Morris 'misses' his entire 50th birthday while traveling to Australia

Unfortunately for him, he wasn't able to celebrate … because he missed the entire day. Due to the 49ers' travel schedule, Morris kinda skipped that date entirely. With the 49ers playing in Australia in Week 1, the team decided to fly down a week early to properly adjust to the time change. Because of that, the team left at night on Sept. 2. But — thanks to the time change — when they landed, it was Sept. 4 in Australia. Morris "missed" his entire birthday. If you're confused about how that works, and how days and time are … a little different when traveling from the United States to Australia, well, you wouldn't be the only one. When asked about preparing for the game, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan gave the most confusing answer when trying to break down how the team is preparing each day. His answer read: "We're a little confused with, when I look at my clock, and it says the time and then I try to see my family's time and it says the time, but it says yesterday, I don't even get how that's possible. So I feel like I'm in the future. "And then also when we play on our Friday, which I think is a Thursday in the U.S., we're such creatures of habit, so I call today Tuesday. No, wait, sorry. I call today Wednesday, which is the first day we put in a game plan. But I think it's Monday. However, though, it's Sunday in the present. So, like, I'm going to mess that up all week if you guys ask me. "Today is just our first day of the game plan, which is a Wednesday. We'll put in some on a Thursday. Friday's the final part of the game plan. Saturday, we walk through and we play on Sunday, which is a Friday in Australia and a Thursday in the U.S. So, don't ever make me do that again." In the end, we're guessing (hoping?) Morris got to have some type of celebration on the team's flight to Australia. While he may not have technically experienced Sept. 3, it did happen. He is 50 now.
