Students explore their own beliefs, values, traditions and identities while beginning to understand what Religious Education is and why it is an important subject. Through discussion, movement and reflection activities, students learn about themselves and others before beginning their study of religion and worldviews. The lesson introduces key expectations for RE, including respect for different viewpoints, discussion skills and the importance of understanding people from different backgrounds and beliefs. Students also begin to consider how religion influences everyday life, often in ways they may not have noticed before.
