Transgender woman jailed after falsely accusing six men of rape in Harrow

A transgender woman who falsely accused six men of rape has been jailed for seven-and-a-half years following a sentencing hearing at Harrow Crown Court. Khloe Simmonds, 26, pleaded guilty to eight counts of perverting the course of justice after making repeated false allegations between July 2018 and January 2026. The court heard that at least 12 false claims were made during the period, leading to multiple police investigations and several men being arrested. ADVERTISEMENT Prosecutor Ben Temple told the court that, at the height of the offending, Simmonds was responsible for around 2.5% of all rape and serious sexual assault allegations being reported in Harrow. Men arrested following false allegations One of the cases involved an Afghan national who Simmonds accused of carrying out a rape at knifepoint in 2018. The man was identified and arrested and remained under police investigation for 88 days. ADVERTISEMENT He denied the allegation and told police that Simmonds had instead made sexual advances towards him, which he had rejected. In another case in February 2022, Simmonds met a chef through the dating app Grindr and invited him back to a flat. Harrow Crown Court heard that the man decided to leave after becoming uncomfortable. Simmonds later called police and falsely claimed that he had raped her and may have put something in her drink. ADVERTISEMENT The man was arrested at his home and spent around 20 hours at a police station before being released. Another allegation was made against a taxi driver after Simmonds travelled home following a date. Police were able to examine data from the vehicle, which showed that the taxi had continued moving and had not stopped as claimed. Simmonds was subsequently arrested and admitted during a police interview that the allegation had been false. The court also heard about an allegation involving a musician who had met Simmonds through Grindr. The pair returned to Simmonds' home, where the man fell asleep on a sofa. Police were then called and the man was accused of sexual assault. He was arrested but strongly denied the allegation. The court heard there had been no sexual contact. ADVERTISEMENT Judge describes 'sustained pattern' Sentencing Simmonds at Harrow Crown Court on Monday, September 7, Judge John Lodge described the offences as a 'sustained pattern of conduct, not isolated incidents'. The judge said Simmonds had developed an increasing awareness of forensic and police investigative procedures as the offending continued. He also said the false allegations had taken police resources away from genuine victims of serious crime and risked damaging confidence in the criminal justice system. The impact on some of those falsely accused was severe. The court heard that one of the men said the allegations had contributed to the breakdown of his relationship, left him estranged from members of his family and resulted in him attempting to take his own life. ADVERTISEMENT Simmonds initially appeared at the sentencing hearing by video link from HMP Wormwood Scrubs before returning to a cell and declining to continue watching proceedings. Dominic Benthall, defending, told the court that Simmonds had been diagnosed with autism and ADHD and had longstanding problems with alcohol dependency. He said there had been an underlying mental health difficulty at the time of the offending. Simmonds was sentenced to seven-and-a-half years in prison for the eight offences.
