Mob attacks cops over stopping devotees from entering temple; two booked

A case of obstruction of police duty has been registered against two persons and a mob after an agitated group allegedly attacked a police team deployed at Sinad village in Radhanpur taluka to prevent devotees from being stopped from entering the Lakhaneshwar Mahadev temple .According to police, sub-inspector H V Chaudhary of Radhanpur police station and his team were patrolling Sinad to maintain peace when they received information that a group of people had gathered near the temple and was preventing some devotees from offering prayers.The police team reached the spot and tried to persuade the group not to take the law into its own hands. However, the situation escalated, with the group allegedly engaging in a heated argument and scuffle with the policemen. One of the members of the mob allegedly attacked Chaudhary with an iron chair.Police said the incident appeared to be linked to the previously discussed issue involvingsinger Kinjal Rabari , following which some villagers were allegedly attempting to prevent people from a particular community from entering the temple.Based on a complaint filed by PSI Chaudhary, police registered a case under various sections of BNS against Jagdish Ishwar Makwana and Lemu Makwana , along with other members of the mob.Radhanpur DySP Krunal Singh Parmar said the situation was under control and additional police deployment had been made in the village to maintain law and order.Police have launched an investigation to arrest the accused who are yet to be apprehended, while the identities of other persons allegedly involved in the mob are also being ascertained.
