Somerset County to Commemorate 25th Anniversary of September 11

(For Immediate Release – Somerset County, NJ): The Somerset County Board of County Commissioners will hold a ceremony starting at 8:46 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks. 'Each year, we gather to pause, remember, and honor the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost on that tragic September morning,' said Commissioner Director Shanel Y. Robinson. 'Time cannot erase the impact of that tragic day, nor will it erase the memory and legacy of those who perished.' The ceremony will begin in front of the Somerset County Historic Courthouse in Somerville. County Commissioners will read the names of the 39 County residents lost in the World Trade Center attacks on September11, 2001. Immediately following will be a wreath presentation at the Memorial Clock Tower, located at the corner of Main and Bridge Streets.
