I'm A Celebrity's Ruby Wax 'sorry' as she cancels string of UK live shows

I'm A Celebrity 2025 star Ruby Wax told her fans that she's 'incredibly sorry' as she cancelled a string of UK live shows. The 73-year-old rose to fame in the UK after starring in the ITV sitcom Girls on Top which aired from 1985 to 1986. She also helped the UK's comedy scene by serving as a script editor for the BBC sitcom Absolutely Fabulous. Ruby is best known for a string of her major talk shows, beginning with The Full Wax. Showing that American style talk shows can work on UK telly, it aired from 1991 to 1994. On top of this, Ruby worked on Ruby Wax Meets, where she interviewed OJ Simpson, a chat show simply titled Ruby, which aired on the BBC from 1997 to 2000, and The Ruby Wax Show, which aired for one season in 2002. Last year saw Ruby take part in the 2025 edition of I'm A Celebrity, alongside the likes of Aitch, EastEnders actress Shona McGarty and Emmerdale star Lisa Riley. Ruby memorably took part in one of the dreaded eating trials. Ruby's time in the jungle is best remembered for her striking up an unlikely friendship with Manchester streamer and eventual winner Angry Ginge. She was the fifth person to have voted off by viewers. On Tuesday (September 8), Ruby cancelled a string of live shows due to 'circumstances outside of my control'. The 73-year-old said her upcoming An Evening With Ruby Wax tour shows in Sheffield, Durham, Edinburgh and Kidderminster will no longer be going ahead. In a statement on Instagram on Tuesday, Ruby noted that she was 'incredibly sorry' and added: 'We've done everything we can behind the scenes to try and find a way forward, but sadly this is no longer possible." She continued: 'I know this will be hugely disappointing for those of you who have booked tickets, particularly if you've already made plans around the shows, and I'm truly sorry. 'I had been very much looking forward to seeing you, and I'm disappointed that we won't get to share these evenings together.' Ruby reassured fans her shows as part of her Absolutely Famous tour will not be affected. In spite of the cancellations, she is 'really looking forward to getting back out on the road'. 'Thank you for your understanding, patience and the support you continue to show me. I really hope to see many of you at an 'Absolutely Famous' show soon,' she noted.
