Ramallah – Saba: With the start of each school year, children carry their small bags, rush to their seats, and their voices fill the schoolyards, heralding the beginning of a new year. But in Palestinian Bedouin villages in the West Bank, the school year doesn't always begin with the same joy; some children enter their classrooms unsure if the walls of their school will still stand until the end of the year. Over the past three years, approximately 45 schools in Bedouin communities in the West Bank have been either demolished or have received demolition notices, according to Jamal Juma, coordinator of the Popular Campaign Against Apartheid, speaking to the Palestinian news agency Sanad.
