Motorcyclist dies after crash with SUV on Cactus Road

A 55-year-old man is dead after the motorcycle he was operating crashed Sunday with an SUV on Cactus Road at the State Route 51 overpass.
The collision occurred about 5:30 a.m. Sept. 6, and preliminary indications are that the motorcyclist, Andre Grant, was heading east in the 3400 block of East Cactus Road and went through an intersection when the light was red, according to a Phoenix Police Department release.
The SUV driver was making a left turn on a green arrow at the same intersection, intending to go south on the Piestewa Freeway when the collision occurred.
