American Black Film Festival Announces Houston Pop Up Programming

The American Black Film Festival has officially unveiled the programming slate for its upcoming national tour stop in Texas. A Diverse Slate of Screenings and Panels The weekend kicks off on Saturday, November 7, with a screenwriting masterclass presented by the New York Film Academy, featuring instructor Randall Dottin. Following this, the program includes a presentation of The Rise: The New Moneyball, a documentary series from Hello Sunshine and Ally Financial that explores the evolution of women's professional sports. The evening concludes with the 2026 HBO Short Film Award Showcase, which highlights five finalists from the 30th annual festival, including works by Jared Leaf and Linda Lô. Sunday's programming shifts focus toward feature-length narratives and industry advocacy. The lineup features a screening of the anthology film Three Colors, which earned the 2026 ABFF Grand Jury Prize for Best Narrative Feature.
